Duo to help develop programing for accelerator in Energy Innovation Center
Greg Meier and Nick Wichert join the EIC as Managing Directors of Business Innovation
MILWAUKEE – At their end of the year holiday networking event Mid-West Energy Research Consortium Executive Director Alan Perlstein announced two more additions to the team.
Greg Meier and Nick Wichert will serve as Managing Directors of Business Innovation in the Energy Innovation Center. The two will focus on providing support developing the programs at the accelerator in the EIC.
“With the buildout of our first shared space nearly complete we’re excited about the timing of the addition,”said Jeff Anthony, Energy Innovation Center Director.
“Greg Meier and Nick Wichert are both recognized leaders in start-up mentorship and bring considerable experience from past advisory and management positions at highly awarded accelerators throughout industry and non-profit early-stage groups,” said Alan Perlstein M-WERC executive director.
Greg Meier earned his undergraduate and law degree from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. He is co-founder of the Global Entrepreneurship Collective (a member of the Global Accelerator Network), which operates two accelerators Revolution Labs and Victory Spark. He serves on the boards of the Milwaukee Institute and Startup Milwaukee and the Advisory Board for the UW-Whitewater Entrepreneurship Major.
Nick Wichert earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee and his Master’s in Business Administration from Lakeland College. He was a founding member of Vetransfer in 2010, which became is the first business accelerator sponsored by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Innovation Initiative. Nick serves on the boards of Global Entrepreneurship Collective, Inc. and Emergent Labs, Inc.
Both Nick and Greg also serve as advisors to numerous early-stage companies and non-profit organizations and frequently speak on the subject of entrepreneurship and economic development
